Welcome to Noor (the “Application”), developed and published by Digital Erena (“we”, “our”, or “us”, accessible at digitalerena.com).
We hold a sacred commitment to respecting and protecting the privacy of every Muslim worshipper using our app. Noor is built on a strict privacy-first foundation. We do not sell, rent, monetize, commercialize, or track your personal data or location history.
2. Data Accessed & How It Is Used
A. Precise & Approximate Location Data
On-Device OnlyWhy We Request It: To compute exact astronomical prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) and calculate the high-precision directional angle pointing directly towards the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.
How It Is Processed: Calculations are performed mathematically directly on your device or ephemerally over encrypted HTTPS to prayer calculation endpoints. We do not save, record, or track your GPS coordinates on remote servers.
B. Orientation & Magnetometer Sensors
Volatile MemoryWhy We Request It: To operate the live interactive 360° Qibla Compass so the needle aligns with Makkah as you turn your phone.
How It Is Processed: Sensor readings are processed exclusively in real-time in device RAM and are discarded immediately upon leaving the Qibla screen.
C. Notifications & Exact Alarms
Local Android SystemWhy We Request It: To ring the Adhan at exact prayer times, trigger the full-screen lock screen prayer alarm, and deliver the daily 9:00 AM Islamic reminder.
How It Is Processed: Uses Android's native AlarmManager. No external cloud push server is needed for alarms.
3. Third-Party Content Providers
Noor queries open-source, encrypted Islamic content delivery networks solely to fetch Surah audio recitations (e.g. Sheikh Mishary Alafasy) and prayer calculation parameters. These CDNs receive zero personally identifiable information (PII).
4. Children's Privacy & GDPR / CCPA Compliance
Noor is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. We do not collect personal data from any user. Users have complete sovereignty to clear all locally cached app data at any time via the Android App Settings.
